These are comments from people who have already signed the petition to SAVE KELLOGG BEACH.

JH – San Diego is beautiful. Once we let developers completely bulldoze every aspect that made it beautiful, we lose the beautiful city we used to have. I support preservation of our beaches and city treasures.

MMR – I’m signing because we need to preserve our small, pockets of beaches. Enough condo development has occurred in La Playa. Let’s save this beach.

BC – This beach is a tiny little Jewel on San Diego Bay and only one of two sand beaches on the bay (not counting Coronado). The neighborhood around this beach is totally overcrowded and the last thing we need is nine or more condos stuck on the sand rising 30 feet and blocking Lawrence Street Beach access…

DM – We live in the neighborhood and love having a safe local spot for our kids.

KS – I don’t want to see Kellogg Beach spoiled with over-building, especially a monstrosity that will completely change the feel of the neighborhood.

SW – It’s a block from my house. I walk along there everyday with my dog. Friends and I walk down to enjoy the beauty frequently. It would be devastating to lose our beautiful beach to developers that are only interested in money.

MH – My family and I frequently walk at beautiful Kellogg beach and walking path. Wish to see it remain as is for generations to come.

Comments galore from people who have already signed the petition to SAVE KELLOGG BEACH.

KA – Stop overdevelopment in San Diego! Here is already way too much traffic in Point Loma and in all beach communities. Please preserve what little space we have left in nature to enjoy in our dear community. Developers – go be money hoarders elsewhere.

AS – This is a delicate area of Point Loma. It is peaceful and provides solace. The project will block public view corridors that have existed for the enjoyment of the public. Second, the area does not support increased traffic and parking that will be caused if this multi-family project gets approved.

SS – This would be devastating to the environment – physically and socially. This should not happen.

SV – This small beach brings back great childhood and young adult memories. This project would destroy the charm and access to Kellogg Beach.

JDC – We walk along Kellogg Beach several times a week. It is beautiful and healthy. We fear this development will hinder access and destroy the beach through erosion – we have watched it happen week by week enabled by the sea wall to the south.

MKC – It’s a ridiculous idea to give this beach away to a select few for a huge project that will forever mar the character of this lovely spot.

MY – I grew up there. Leave the area as it was, not a new Miami Beach!

JS – Condo project will negatively affect this beautiful public beach with a seawall that will cause erosion and loss of public beach use.

DK – The boundaries of this area are too small, getting too populated. The small roads and small beaches are no longer able to accommodate more people. Needs to stop! Point Loma is a peninsula. Build elsewhere!

RP – This beach is a little treasure among the Pt. Loma community! Please do not destroy the memories of so many who grew up and still use this beach! It would be a travesty!

SH – This is a special place for the community to walk, swim and keep an eye on nature.

DD – My family and I have enjoyed this beautiful beach for several generations. Sometimes decision makers should place emphasis on their residents love of community and the natural beauty of a beach/area such as Kellogg’s a priority over the developer who only wants to rape an area for their own greed. Please reconsider this project and leave this area untouched. Its natural beauty is what makes the area so desirable and unique.

CR – We love Kellogg beach, it’s great to have a local spot, perfect for kiddos and kayaking.

WH – As a native to the Point Loma community, let us have a voice in the development of this cherished public beach. Multi unit dwellings have the potential to overwhelm.

JK – We do not need more density and traffic in an area where egress is already compromised.

AT – This infuriates me! I grew up and still live in Point Loma and Kellogg Beach has always been one of our family’s favorite spots! To think that some greedy and ignorant developers would try to build a monster and ruin so much of what is La Playa is absolutely not okay! We must stop this from happening!

CS – I visit this beach regularly with my sons. It’s an integral part of the fabric of San Diego and San Diego Bay. This development would dramatically detract from our family’s ability to continue to make use of this public beach. The city and Point Loma community were wise to keep this beach public and out of private hands many years ago. Let’s not let short term personal gain infringe on this vision.

Again, here are MORE comments from people who have already signed the petition to SAVE KELLOGG BEACH.

AD – The proposed seawall will create erosion of the remining beach and block public access any time other than very low tide. The proposed condo project will block public views.

CM – My husband’s grandparents met at Kellogg’s in the early 1920’s. Four generations in our family have loved this beach! Tradition + Treasure!

SL – It’s not in the public interest of those of us who live and are raising our children to over develop here in Point Loma, loss of a public beach to service and line the pockets of yet another overzealous property developer.
We cannot allow greed determine and lower our quality of life…

HD – Kellogg Beach is a gem in Point Loma – and having a three story condominium complex replace ONE residential unit will change the look and feel of the area. I worry about traffic and parking on the very narrow San Antonio Avenue. I worry about the public access to the beach. And, like others, I worry about how adding a seawall will eventually erode the beach (as has happened recently before at the foot of Kellogg Street).

CL – This beach is a treasure. This proposed condo complex will ruin it and the neighborhood. It will erode the beach, deny access to the public and destroy the view corridor, create parking issues in the neighborhood.

DD – Kellogg Beach was (and is) an alternative to the “touristy” beach scene. Always complete with conversation and culture as well as events of the day. San Diego bay visuals and clean blue ocean out past Point Loma and Coronado.

VS – Took my kids to that beach many times. Great memories and I hope to save it for future generations.

MG – Disgusted that the city would allow the development of this area and to ruin this beloved community beach!!! Stop the overdevelopment of our beautiful little community! This beach has been enjoyed by all for generations…
